Bali offers many amazing experiences for those on holiday. Whether you’re looking to go to the beach all day and surf, or wander through nature and discover exciting and ancient temples, Seminyak is the place to stay on Bali.
With an exciting and vibrant night life, Seminyak is also the place to live it up until the wee hours of the morning. A large selection of fine Indonesian and international cuisines await those ready to eat after a day lounging in the sun.
Couples will find everything they need, including golf for men and spas for women. And if you’ve got a family, there are many great ocean and safari parks just waiting to thrill. If you’re looking for an all-inclusive vacation, come to Bali today!
If you’re interested in great scenic location, be sure to put Tanah Lot on your list! This amazing temple located on the Indian Ocean and off the Bali Sea is one of the most visited sites on Seminyak, The work of 15th century priests, the temple has been part of Balinese mythology for as long as anyone can remember. There are plenty of restaurants and shops located nearby, so plan on making this a half-day or even a day-long trip. Remember, you don’t want to miss the breathtaking sunsets!
If it’s a great temple experience you want, but without the crowds or travel hassles, think about Pura Petitenget. In Balinese, ‘Peti’ is coven and ‘Tenget’ is haunted. While you might not see any shadows, spirits, or witches there today, you will enjoy the interesting history you’re sure to soak up at this exciting temple.
Pura Ulun Danu Bratan Temple
Another great temple to visit is located on the shores of Lake Bratan, and is called the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan Temple. Built in 1663, this Shivaite temple is a fine example of the ‘water temples’ that dot many of Bali’s lakes, rivers, and streams. The temple was used to make offerings to Dewi Danu, the Balinese lake and river goddess.
This marvelous temple located on the southernmost tip of Bali is a great place to see Kecak Dancing. Each night as sunset approaches the traditional Balinese dance will take place, often accompanied by as many as 50 male choruses. The dances were originally performed to scare away evil spirits. The dances also represent stories from the Balinese traditional text, the Ramayana, and you’ll be excited to see a full costumed demon-king named Rawana jump into the dance, causing all the men to start jabbering like monkeys. With enchanting cliffs and the wondrous show, you’ll definitely be entertained, but beware; the monkeys in the area have been known to pick a pocket or two.
