Right on the beach, this great restaurant offers the coolest place to hang out on day beds sipping cocktails at sunset and watching beautiful people.  Besides offering a range of international cuisines, including French, Greek, Italian, Thai, Moroccan, and Japanese, you can hand out in the lounge with great DJ tunes.

Potato Head

This very chic and trendy restaurant offers amazing outdoor décor that’s right on the ocean, and which has been written about in numerous international publications.  Potato Head’s trademark mismatched 18th century teak shutters were designed by renowned architect Andra Martin, and represent his modern take on the Coliseum.  All of the shutters were collected from the beaches of Indonesia, and you won’t want to miss this memorable restaurant, whether you’re looking for international cuisines or handcrafted cocktails.

Mama San’s

The coolest new Pan-Asian Fusion restaurant and bar, Mama San’s offers great décor, music, and wonderfully flavored food.  Stepping into Mama San’s is like taking a time machine to Shanghai in the 1920s.  You can enjoy the unique Chinese cuisine while being surrounded by marble-top mahjong tables, vintage Chinese clocks and mirrors, and oversized tan leather chesterfield chairs.  The restaurant is fully air-conditioned on both levels, making it an ideal place to escape even the hottest days and nights.


great décor south east Asian cuisine focusing on Chic Thai (sane owners as above)  This unique Asian concept restaurant was inspired by the recipes made popular by street vendors around Asia.  The restaurant has been pegged as one to watch by Conde Naste Traveler magazine, and has been popular ever since its inception in 2008.  Guests are advised that children under the age of 12 are not encouraged to attend.

Café Warisan

French cuisine tables adorned located with candles located and overlooking the rice fields! Been around forever one of the first best restaurants in Bali!


Located in Badu, this is by far the most chic and best gastronomic restaurant in Bali, and one of the top in Asia.  You can enjoy great food and wine pairing menus in a fantastic outdoor setting.  Their Discovery Menu includes fresh seasonal Indonesian ingredients.  The Surprise Menu includes such things as caviar, foie gras, and truffles, and guests won’t know until the dishes arrive.  And the Tapas Menu allows guests to relax in the lounge while enjoying cocktails and tapas presented in trios.

Ultimo and Rumours

These twin restaurants offer great food and service for guests looking for quality at a value! Ultimo’s has excellent Italian food in a garden setting with live jazz Tuesdays through Fridays.  Rumours is one of the best steak restaurants in Seminyak, and now offers a wide selection of pastas, pizzas, and freshly baked bread.  And during the week the nights are rocking with live DJs playing for locals and tourists alike.


This is another great dining spot with foods and spices grown by local Bedugul farmers.  They have a wide variety of imported New Zealand and Australian meats, Dim Sum breakfasts and brunches, and a complete cocktail bar.

Made’s Warung

Established in 1969, Made’s Warung is simply the best place for lunch, with great open spaces, traditional Balinese food, and plenty of western favorites.  For large groups there are buffet packages, as well as a great al a carte and vegetarian menu selection. While you wait for a table at this popular spot you can peruse the nearby shopping area.  We recommend the seaweed sashimi and Nasi Campur, a traditional Bali dish with all the fixin’s!

Warung Sobat 2

This family-owned local restaurant is close to Sandi Kala Villas, and offers fast and affordable delivery most times of the day and night.  All of the restaurant’s staff come from Buahan village, so you know you’re getting authentic Balinese food.

Bali Buddha

This is another great healthy and delicious restaurant that is close to Sandi Kala Villas and that offers delivery service.  You can find all kinds of western foods, plus local and imported organic foods.


This amazing restaurant that’s trendy with expats is housed on an elevated bamboo structure that overlooks the nearby rice fields.  The menu changes daily depending on the catch, but you can be assured it will be healthy, tasty, and suited to the warm Balinese climate.

Rock Bar

If you want to experience the coolest sunsets in Bali, come to Rock Bar near dark.  The bar’s innovative design by Yasuhiro Koichi of Japan takes advantage of the natural rock formations 14 meters above the ocean to give you some of the most amazing views in the area.  Crowds, and prices, start to pick up around dark, so you might want to venture here during the afternoons.
